STATEMENT OF BELIEFS
We live in a world that is constantly changing, but the Bible is our firm foundation, the source of truth that guides our foundational beliefs. These include, but are not limited to, the following statements.
Scripture.
We believe the Bible is God’s word to all people, inspired and written by men who were moved by the Holy Spirit and is therefore without error.
(2 Timothy 3:16-17)
God.
We believe in one God who exists eternally as one God in three persons; God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. Jesus is the second member of the Trinity (God the Son), who came to earth in human form to reveal God to all people and become the Savior of the world.
(Genesis 1:1; John 1:1-3, 14, 14:9-11, 14:16-17; Ephesians 4:4-6 1 Corinthians 8:6)
Creation + Providence.
We believe that God created the world from nothing and governs all things at all times in all places.
(Genesis 1:1; Psalm 90:2; Isaiah 40:28; Nehemiah 9:6; John 1:3; Colossians 1:15-17)
Sin + Humanity.
We believe that all people are created in God’s image and because of that have value and worth, however because of sin we are all separated from God and cannot have a right relationship with God by our own means.
(Genesis 1:26-27, 3:17-19, 5:1-2, 6:5; Ecclesiastes 7:20; Jeremiah 17:9; Romans 3:9-23; Galatians 5:17)
Salvation.
We believe that salvation is by grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone. Anyone that puts their faith in the death and resurrection of Christ as payment for their sins, can accept God’s free gift of salvation.
(John 3:16-17, 10:10; Acts 4:12; Romans 5:19, 10:9-13; 2 Peter 3:9)
Following Jesus.
We believe that all Christians should live for Jesus, making it an essential part of their life to live in obedience to the Bible, yield to the Holy Spirit and mature in their faith.
(Romans 6:1-23, 12:1-2; Galatians 2:20; 1 Corinthians 6:11; 2 Corinthians 5:17 2 Timothy 1:9; Titus 2:11-12)
The Church.
We believe that the Church is the body of Christ, locally and globally. It is our mission to shine God’s glory to a lost world.
(Romans 12:6-8; Ephesians 1:22, 4:15-16, 5:29-30; Colossians 1:18)
Resurrection + Return of Jesus Christ.
We believe that Jesus Christ physically died and was resurrected, and that He will return to the world in the future to judge the living and the dead.
(Mark 16:5-7; Luke 24:1-12; Acts 3:15; 1 Corinthians 15:3-8; Acts 1:11, 3:19-21; 1 Corinthians 4:5, 15:23-24; Philippians 3:20; 1 Thessalonians 3:13; 4:15-5:4, 23; 2 Thessalonians 1:6-7, 2:1-2, 8; Revelation 1:7-8, 22:12-13, 20-21)
